Mysteries at the Salt Villages
A mysterious plague strikes several villages near borderlands of the desert and wetlands. The salt trade in the area has been wreck by a mysterious foe as strange creatures began to roam the area, the village children have been showing up missing. Who could be the cause of such despair?
This will be Askia and Shyeria first major quest as it will introduce some major characters in our story and prepare them for upcoming quests.
For this particular quest, I wanted to include traditional west & east african architectural village styles. Check out some interesting references we are using for the village:
One thing in particular I wanted to include are the reservoirs of Niger, where there are salted jewel ponds. The ponds where how salt was extracted. The combination of the salt and clay leaves a unique colorful after affects on each pods, which is why it’s called a jewel pond!
I believe that referencing this location will make a good starting point for our heroes as well as increase our characters awareness of the world around them. Our talented environmental artist has created a visual perspective of that village. Check out on Patreon page to get more sneak-peaks!
